About The Donald E Bailey Family Tree
This is a Genealogy of the Bailey Family. It includes the Updike, Hess, Shirk, Partridge, Dunbar, McAfee, Stanton, Champagne, Wark, Sills and Janeski lines with as much information as I've been able to glean from the various family members. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin and George Washington are like 7th Cousins 10x removed? The tree traces back to William Tell (the guy that shot the apple off some kids head, and it was with a crossbow, not an arrow). There's a story about the Shirk ancestor who married an Indian Princess (not in our line)! There are lines back to King William (the Conqueror)of England, Henri I of France and Emperor Charlemagne! There's a Jewish line around 1 AD that traces more than a few generations through England back into Israel. There are two lines that go back all the way to Troy. And there are lines that trace back through Rome via Emperor Justinian! Have fun, look around if you like. If you find something that needs correction or if you want to upload a photo, just let me know I'll be glad to oblige. Consider this; you start out with 2 parents, then 4 grandparents, then 8 great-grandparents, then 16 great-great- grandparents then exponentially, 32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048,4096,8192, etc., etc. It just keeps going up with each new generation! It will probably take me the rest of my life to put ALL the information together.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
